Afternoon Royal Oak, I wanted to drop a quick line to say how brilliant it was to stay at your lovely place over the last 3 days. I have been needing a break for the last couple of months after starting a new stressful position so to be so relaxed at yours was just what I needed. Thank you for making Ken and I so welcome. I will visit again but not the next time he's up unfortunately…..some of us have got a proper job!!! Again Many Thanks.

Really warm and friendly welcome from all staff here, we had a very comfortable and clean room. Free WiFi with good connection, fabulous views from the lovely large window, ample on site parking. Lovely quiet village location with fairly quick and easy access to Harrogate.  Wonderful generous freshly cooked breakfast with fresh local ingredients in a really nice and cosy dining room - although this was the only meal we ate here, the menu looked fantastic and we'll definitely be sampling it on our next visit. Many thanks to Steve and Anna for a wonderful stay.

Everything was great, the location, the breakfasts, the sword fish steak! The room with a view, the friendly proprietors and helpful staff.

Incredibly helpful, kind and friendly. Wonderful location a few miles outside Pateley Bridge.

Our grateful thanks go to The Royal Oak for catering and looking after four (not six) weary walkers this afternoon. We very much enjoyed the comfort of your room with the coal fire and look forward to calling in again, hopefully next year.

Great place to stop ideal for visits around the Yorkshire Dales and Harrogate. Lovely place to stop - still full from the wonderful breakfast had this morning - can't wait to come back - thank you for making us welcome.

Thank you so much for your hospitality; we had a wonderful evening, we really enjoyed all that lovely food...... Everything lived up to and went beyond expectations. The chef must have worked so hard to prepare all those meals for us; they were all absolutely delicious. I know I will have to come back one day for another portion of that Yorkshire Beef!

Would happily return if in the area, either to stay or just to eat. Staff were very friendly. Atmosphere very homely and simple. Food and drink were brilliant. Beautifully warm and really good views from Room 3. Excellent value - stayed four nights. Bathroom was very small but understandably so in view of the age of the building. Choose room 1 if you have a choice as it is larger and has a bath rather than shower. NB Booking.com website picture does not do justice to the facilities and ambiance of this little gem of a Yorkshire inn.

Everything!!! Highly recommended, but the food is the main factor. Outstanding food & the breakfast was fantastic!!!

Lovely place, superb food and ale, very friendly and helpful staff. Very friendly traditional country pub. Great Cycle storage. A bit noisy late evening but then it is a pub and i expected that!
